PALM BAY, FL -- MC Assembly will receive more than $850,000 in property tax relief for its operations here after a local county board voted to approve the deal.

The board voted 4-1 in favor of the tax breaks in the hopes that MC Assembly would not follow through on its threat to move its operations to Mexico. The EMS company employs 540 workers at the site.

In exchange for the tax breaks, MC Assembly must invest some $17 million in its local facility, or $85,384 a year over 10 years.
