TABY, SWEDEN -- Mycronic announced fourth-quarter sales of SEK 656 million ($79.4 million), up 102% from a year ago.
Orders were up 65% to SEK 618 million. EBIT was SEK 231 million, up from SEK 42 million a year ago.
For the full year, the designer and manufacturer of SMT jet printer and placement machines saw net sales jump 48% from the previous year to SEK 1,475 million. Orders nearly doubled to SEK 2 billion, and EBIT was SEK 277 million.
The company forecast 2015 sales of SEK 1,650 million to SEK 1,750 million. Orders for SMT equipment are up 27%, the firm said.
"We are proud of this past year, where orders and sales increased 93% and 48%, respectively,” said Lena Olving, CEO and president of Mycronic AB. "Mycronic reported a positive EBIT and strong margins for six consecutive quarters. For the full year 2014, the EBIT margin was 19%. The fourth quarter contributed greatly to this result. We have also entered 2015 with a record high order backlog of SEK 702 million, where the lion’s share will be delivered during the current year."
