ST. PETERSBURG, FL – Jabil Circuit reported first quarter fiscal year 2016 net revenue ended Nov. 30 of $5.2 billion, up 14% year-over-year.
The company's electronics manufacturing services unit reported $2.7 billion in revenues, while its diversified manufacturing services unit posted revenue of $2.5 billion.
Net income for the quarter was $131.9 million, up 82.7% compared to the same period in fiscal 2015. GAAP operating income was $214.5 million, up 48.1% year-over-year.
“I am extremely pleased with our strong first quarter results, which were driven by improved product diversification and exceptional productivity across both of our business segments,” said CEO Mark T. Mondello. “This record quarter illustrates the power of both our DMS and EMS businesses.”
Jabil expects net revenue for the second fiscal quarter of $4.4 billion to $4.7 billion and fiscal year 2016 revenue of approximately $20 billion.
Earlier this month, Jabil was named CIRCUITS ASSEMBLY's EMS Company of the Year for 2015.
