FRANKLIN, MA – Speedline Technologies will showcase MPM printers, an Electrovert reflow oven and wave soldering equipment at ATExpo booth 5710.
Speedline’s exhibit at the show will spotlight the following:
MPM AccuFlex printing system will be part of the live, working electronics assembly line. The printer is for moderate volume, high-mix printing. Combines accuracy and flexibility in a compact footprint, the printer offers a range of options for future expansion or advanced processes. Designed for production of 8,000 boards/week, with two or more product changeovers per shift.
MPM Accela printing system features parallel processing technology. Said to produce the most boards/hour of any industry printer – delivering raw throughput gains of 20 to 80% over competitors and generating more quality boards per hour. Designed for ease of use, features a new design and easy-to-use operator interface. Is well positioned for the challenge of lead-free assembly and increasingly complex boards.
Electrovert OmniExcel 7 is a lead-free capable, seven-zone, forced convection reflow oven. Features an advanced chamber design for balanced airflow with minimal turbulence, to improve heat transfer and reduce power and N2 consumption. Compared to other platforms, reportedly consumes up to 50% less power and 35% less nitrogen. Can be equipped with self-cleaning Flux Extraction Systems (FES), delivering a drop in maintenance intervals to once per month. OmniCheck monitoring system delivers a redundant check on process temperatures and conveyor belt, and provides both extensive data tracking and monitoring capabilities of the process parameters.
In addition Speedline will exhibit its Electrovert Quick-Change Solder Module equipped with the new UltraFill Nozzle.
EFD introduces SN89/SB10.5/CU0.5 high-temperature, lead-free solder paste with a solidus temperature of 242ºC, 22°C delta above SAC. May be used for multiple-step component assembly where the component will later be attached to a PCB using SAC alloy.
With the lead-free deadline rapidly approaching, an alloy with a higher reflow temperature is necessary. Additional advantages include high tensile strength (~12,000 PSI), improved wetting properties compared to other lead-free alloys and apasty range of 21ºC from 263º to 242ºC.
Available in all flux systems and alloy types II, III, IV and V.
Stanley Assembly Technologies will demonstrate threaded fastening, special engineered assembly tools and Cobotics material handling systems at the ATExpo, Sept. 27-29. New products include QPM small screwdrivers, Fastening Tool Center software, Omega touch screen interface for multiple QPM controllers and a new PSI controller with pulse tools. The company also introduced a 500 lb iLift; the 150 lb model will demonstrate overall capability.
Straight, push-to-start and angle screwdriver models offer clean, quiet and ergonomic fastening from 0.4 to 18 Nm. Other QPM models include angle, straight, hold and drive, crowfoot, tubenut and fixtured tools with rated torques from 2 to 2,000 Nm. QPM assembly systems can interface in many ways to manufacturing systems for tool programming and data management. Fastening Tool Center software enables enterprise-wide control and data analysis for QPM systems. The touch screen interface offers soft PLC capability and interface with as many as 36 QPM tools and controllers.
ALSIP, IL– From the moment they roll off the production line, circuit boards, transistor leads, plugs and switching assemblies, and other delicate electronic components are expected to deliver top performance. To protect functionality without affecting conductivity, Daubert Cromwell has introduced Silver-Guard poly bags.
Silver-Guard anti-tarnish film removes sulfide vapors inside a closed environment. The chemicals react with the vapors to eliminate the sulfide, and eliminate the risk of tarnish. May be placed in direct contact with the part without risk of staining or discoloration.
Packaging is a one-step, one-product process said to reduce packaging time, expense and inventory. The clear film, standard in 2 mil, is non-toxic and recyclable.
Offered in rolls, sheeting and many sizes of resealable bags. Daubert Cromwell, daubertcromwell.com
The MFR (Multi Function Rework) system has acompact power unit that offers two ports to which any of the MFR series tools can be attached for rework applications, SMT tasks and through-hole soldering and desoldering. For heavier or more varied workloads, multiple units can be interlocked to power as many tools as necessary.
Offers a choice of heater tips or tip cartridges. Heater tips are designed to meet the demands of point to point production soldering; tip cartridges are suitable for high performance soldering and rework applications.
The tools, interchangeable heater tips and tip cartridges are easy to assemble and use, ideal for demanding lead-free materials. Metcal SmartHeat technology senses the amount of heat energy needed at the pad and provides it accurately and instantaneously.
Sensitive components are further protected from damage by ESD-safe materials and built-in ground continuity-sensing technology.
Tools in the series include: MFR-PTZ Precision Tweezer System -- dual fine point adjustment and pivot action allows even small SMT devices, such as 0201 chip capacitors, to be handled during rework; MFR-SRC Solder/Rework Cartridge System -- fast, high performance soldering and rework applications; MFR-PST Production Solder Tip System -- point to point production soldering; MFR-DSI and MFR-DSX desoldering stations.
The lightweight hand pieces are designed with optimum tip-to-grip distance, has a range of tip cartridge and heater tip geometries.
“Auto Standby” and “Auto Off” functions use motion detection technology to save on energy usage and prolong tip life. A special work stand design incorporates tip cleaning and maintenance. Requires no calibration.

Munich, Germany and Westford, MA -- Zuken has launched Circuit Adviser to the Western market for systematically checking errors in a schematic, helping identify design problems early in the development cycle and eliminating the need to re-run design cycles.
The module was created to find hidden electrical problems in the schematic design held within CR-5000 System Designer using predefined electrical rules set by the library administrator. A task that would ordinarily involve considerable analysis time using SPICE-based simulators can now be performed using simple automatic rule checks.
Is an add-on solution fully integrated with the CR-5000 enterprise wide design environment. By implementing combined technologies that use a singular database throughout the portfolio, designers can benefit from unified design information.
Can perform eight different electrical rule checks including voltage rating and ground supply polarity. Supports verification of design variants and provides a full quality rule check report. Eliminates expensive call-back actions caused by simple errors such as incorrect polarity or voltage ranges.
