SAN JOSE – Worldwide semiconductor manufacturing equipment billings reached $9.59 billion in the second quarter, 0.2% higher than the first quarter and up 27% over a year ago,
SEMI reported today. It was the highest mark for billings in more than five years.
Semiconductor equipment bookings reached $11.53 billion, up
60% from a year ago and 23% sequentially.
The data are gathered in conjunction with the
Semiconductor Equipment Association of Japan from more than 150 global equipment companies.
“In the second quarter of 2006, worldwide bookings for semiconductor
manufacturing equipment posted strong sequential gains, while billings
reached their highest levels since the first quarter of 2001,” said
Stanley T. Myers, president and CEO of SEMI.
