PRO 1S and PRO 1Sm are single nozzle selective soldering stations that incorporate a variety of technologies to solder individual or groups of components. The nozzle is surrounded by a nitrogen blanket to enhance soldering.
 
The 30 lb. solder pot is Pb-free compliant and comes with a solder replenishment system and automatic spray fluxer system. PCBs or pallets enter the work cell on a precision in-line conveyor system. Programs may be set up through a data management system or overhead laser pointer. Once the X/Y parameters are established, the z motion maneuvers around bottom-side components.

BEST Inc. has launched online BGA rework and repair services. Through its on online shopping marketplace, the company now offers BGA services including initial placement, removal and replacement of BGAs, and x-ray imaging.
 
Customers can have a variety of BGA rework services performed on small fast turn quantities. Up to five BGAs per order can be placed or removed and replaced. Users can choose either a SnPb or Pb-free BGA rework process. Each removal and replacement comes with visual, endoscopic and x-ray inspection services. Customers are sent images of their x-rays as part of the normal process flow. These services will be performed in less than five business days.

KISS line of simple selective soldering systems are suitable for Pb-free solders. The newest system, KISS 102, will be on display in Booth 2585 at Apex next month.

It can encapsulate diverse components with highly miniaturized features. The polyamide hotmelt material allows encapsulation of the circuitry and the formation of the outer shell of the component in one step. The process only requires a melt unit, low pressure dispensing system and a mold.

Model 2200-245-125 Tip-Seal dispense valve dispenses low- to high-viscosity flowable materials. Is also used in high-speed stitching or repetitive on-off applications where short segments of material are deposited onto a surface.
 
The design is ideal for dispensing solvent-based, moisture-curing and stringy materials such as silicones or polyurethanes. The valve opens and closes its material passage at the tip of the nozzle to precisely start and stop material flow. Sealing at the tip also prevents material from hardening in the nozzle, oozing or dripping.
 
Pneumatically actuated, the valve has a carbide tip, titanium-coated shaft, hardened seat and wear-resistant fluid seals to extend valve life. The stroke adjuster can set the needle opening to change material-flow rates and bead-profile sizes.
 
The valve’s precision dowel and screw holes allow easy, accurate mounting. The 2.5” (63.5mm) tip length enables the valve to reach into parts and fixturing. Other tip lengths are available. Material is delivered to the valve by either a metering assembly or under regulated pressure from supply tanks or pumps.
